RIvErPlATE's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 18 minutes into the match, Gaboto FC's goal looked a bit too open when Aureliano Eutropio came free, but Edelmiro Orlandus reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Teo Hernandez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Teo Hernandez spun around in front of the goal 27 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of RIvErPlATE's goal. In the 38th minute the ball was on its way in behind RIvErPlATE's goalkeeper Apolo Lorencio, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 41stth minute of the game Teo Hernandez who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but RIvErPlATE's Apolo Lorencio was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Cristian Gonsalvo's late challenge caught a Gaboto FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cristian Gonsalvo helped the player get up and apologised. Cristian Gonsalvo hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. Teo Hernandez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Apolo Lorencio having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Aureliano Eutropio made a kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Teo Hernandez in the 52nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Apolo Lorencio prevented the ball from getting in the gole. RIvErPlATE's Apolo Lorencio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Teo Hernandez in the 56th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in RIvErPlATE's zone, Teo Hernandez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Apolo Lorencio came out of the goal and Teo Hernandez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Leonel Baumer got free with Apolo Lorencio in the 65th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ermegildo Clemencin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 67th minute of the match, but Apolo Lorencio made a huge save. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Teo Hernandez managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gaboto FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Teo Hernandez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Apolo Lorencio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Apolo Lorencio stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Teo Hernandez's shot from short distance in the 72nd minute. Teo Hernandez took the ball and in the 73 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Apolo Lorencio. Apolo Lorencio dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Danilo Bertol fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Apolo Lorencio having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in RIvErPlATE's zone, Ermegildo Clemencin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Apolo Lorencio came out of the goal and Ermegildo Clemencin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Apolo Lorencio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Teo Hernandez in the 85th minute of the match. Teo Hernandez hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, RIvErPlATE's Cristian Gonsalvo got a free kick in the 89th minute. If Teo Hernandez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 97 minutes into the match, RIvErPlATE's goal looked a bit too open when Teo Hernandez came free, but Apolo Lorencio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gaboto FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
