The referee ignored Domínguez's protests and gave Francisco Playo a yellow card for diving instead. Aureliano Eutropio scored 0-1 in the 9th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gonzalo Indar, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience was convinced that Aureliano Eutropio's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gonzalo Indar was relentless in the 15th minute of the game. In the 17th match minute, RIvErPlATE was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Remigio Gauargi to maneuver through the defense. Gonzalo Indar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aureliano Eutropio in the 24th minute of play. In the 25th minute Aureliano Eutropio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gonzalo Indar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ildefonso Tono got free with Apolo Lorencio in the 27th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 30th minute, Ildefonso Tono got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Aureliano Itzaina came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Domínguez fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aureliano Itzaina couldn't finish the play. If Ildefonso Tono had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 38th minute the ball was on its way in behind Domínguez's goalkeeper Gonzalo Indar, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 43 played minutes Domínguez got a freekick which was hit by Aureliano Itzaina. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Aureliano Itzaina was the one to do the kick off. In the 55th minute, Aureliano Itzaina hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Apolo Lorencio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ildefonso Tono in the 69th minute of the match. In the 79th minute of the match Saul Janpier sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gonzalo Indar skillfully saved the ball. Aureliano Eutropio struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Gonzalo Indar didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for RIvErPlATE. In the 82nd minute, Francisco Playo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. RIvErPlATE's Remigio Gauargi got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gonzalo Indar was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Aureliano Eutropio showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-3 in the 85 minute of play. Ildefonso Tono fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Apolo Lorencio having to interfere. In the 91st minute, Cristian Gonsalvo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The RIvErPlATE supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing RIvErPlATE would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
