The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. After a defensive mix-up in boca's zone, Melchor Petrigai stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Filiberto Su came out of the goal and Melchor Petrigai tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ulises Padro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Filiberto Su tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 20 minutes into the game, Nemesio Onofre lined in a short shot 1-0 behind a frustrated Filiberto Su. Melchor Petrigai recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ulises Padro hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Francisco Abascal in the 34th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Elias Jerardo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Francisco Abascal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 45th match minute, boca was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lucio Quico to maneuver through the defense. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Melchor Petrigai stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Francisco Abascal, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 55 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Elias Jerardo was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. 57 minutes into the match, boca's goal looked a bit too open when Nemesio Onofre came free, but Filiberto Su reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 59 minutes into the match, boca's Francisco Abascal sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Elias Jerardo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 88th minute, Marcelo Koldo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 96th minute, Nemesio Onofre ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Filiberto Su was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Chacarita Juniors's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
