If Alonzo Barrionuevo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match clock showed 16 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Eriberto Gonzo sped through A.F. Argentino's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ladislao Rufio. Alonzo Barrionuevo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Prospero Frasquito having to interfere. Bernardo Darien kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. Gonzalo Bras was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 33rd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. With a little luck, Independiente Rey's Prospero Frasquito got control of the ball when Laureano Canor tried to sneak it across the goal line. Laureano Canor fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Prospero Frasquito having to interfere. Eriberto Gonzo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ladislao Rufio having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Clemente Celio in the 46th minute of play forced A.F. Argentino's goalkeeper Ladislao Rufio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Alonzo Barrionuevo to strike the kick off in the second half. Prospero Frasquito showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Laureano Canor in the 53rd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Independiente Rey's Daniel Quinten got a free kick in the 54th minute. Laureano Canor sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 65th minute, Alonzo Barrionuevo made a precise shot to the right of Prospero Frasquito. Independiente Rey's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. After a defensive mix-up in Independiente Rey's zone, Alonzo Barrionuevo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Prospero Frasquito came out of the goal and Alonzo Barrionuevo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Laureano Canor sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bernardo Darien hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. In the 79th minute, Alonzo Barrionuevo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 85th minute, Alonzo Barrionuevo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The A.F. Argentino fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-3. After a rather tough play, A.F. Argentino's Angelo Tino got a free kick in the 88th minute. In the 90th minute, Clemente Celio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ladislao Rufio didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 91st minute, which inside left pole to 2-4. In the 97th minute Alonzo Barrionuevo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Prospero Frasquito saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the final whistle went the supporters of Independiente Rey were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant A.F. Argentino side.
