Hector Tajo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Francisco Erasto struck a weak shot in the 14th minute. Hector Tajo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ávalos. After 17 minutes, Abelardo Izel made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Ávalos's Ariel Toli tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Edelmiro Tulio's late challenge caught a Ávalos's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Ávalos's Aurelio Perpinya got a free kick in the 44th minute. Ávalos's Ariel Toli played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Conrado Faron in the 46th minute of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Constantino Txaran might have been able to make a better finish in the 55th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Hector Tajo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Constantino Txaran ran back to his position shaking his head. After a rather tough play, Ávalos's Fausto Silvanito got a free kick in the 56th minute. Abelardo Izel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 62 minutes, Abelardo Izel managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cavour's supporters crossed their fingers, but Abelardo Izel was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Francisco Erasto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Camilo James sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A hard shot by Luisito Filipo from long distance, 79 minutes into the match, got Ariel Toli's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. In the 84th minute Gogo Valerio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hector Tajo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Francisco Erasto's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hector Tajo was relentless in the 90th minute of the game.
