An unexpectedly hard shot by Casimiro Dabi in the 81st minute of play forced Azul y Oro's goalkeeper Jeronimo Dantae to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Norberto Tebaldo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jeronimo Dantae was relentless in the 82nd minute of the game. When Fidel Toribio came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the Azul y Oro fans jumped to their feet. The Atreyus supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Azul y Oro's performance. The match ended with a win for Azul y Oro.
