Gilberto Dalmu came out and tried to block the shot, but Cleto Bernal slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 7th minute. Adan Eguerdi hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. The Talleres fans' excitement grew in the 13th match minute when Talleres's Edgard Breogan looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Delmar Azeari received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Alberto Sal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Delmar Azeari had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Edgard Breogan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Lino Gervaso took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 25th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Alberto Sal. Ledesma's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jairo Lucian during the 27th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 27th match minute, Ledesma was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jairo Lucian to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edgard Breogan in the 28th minute of play forced Ledesma's goalkeeper Alberto Sal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Talleres's Adan Eguerdi pulled a muscle in his back after 29 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After a rather tough play, Ledesma's Julio Dolfo got a free kick in the 30th minute. In the 37th minute, Aaron Oidor got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Delmar Azeari to make the kick off. After 50 minutes, Aaron Oidor mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ledesma and the Talleres players grew even worse after the yellow card. Edgard Breogan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Jairo Lucian managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ledesma's supporters rose to their feet, but Jairo Lucian was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gilberto Dalmu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
