Spectators: 7070 (Terracing: 5411, Seating: 1659, VIP seats: 0) Drysdale's Prudencio Urtungo started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anastasio Rodriguez in the 3rd minute of play forced Merced's goalkeeper Sixto Sal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Merced's Sixto Sal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anastasio Rodriguez in the 5th minute of play. Drysdale's Anastasio Rodriguez got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 22nd minute Anastasio Rodriguez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sixto Sal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 24 played minutes Merced got a freekick which was hit by Valentin Nesto. Prudencio Urtungo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Valentin Nesto might have been able to make a better finish in the 35th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Vinicio Thomas. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Valentin Nesto ran back to his position shaking his head. Drysdale's Vinicio Thomas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save Drysdale from getting a goal against them. Patricio Constancio hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. When Felix Lia fell near the penalty area in the 39th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Merced's protests and gave Felix Lia a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Drysdale booed when Merced was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felix Lia didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Anastasio Rodriguez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 42 played minutes Merced got a freekick which was hit by Orlando Arnas. In the 45th minute, Felix Lia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 48th minute, Prudencio Urtungo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Drysdale's supporters rose to their feet, but Prudencio Urtungo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sixto Sal breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Orlando Arnas made a kick off. After having played for 52 minutes, Prudencio Urtungo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Drysdale's supporters crossed their fingers, but Prudencio Urtungo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 69 minutes into the match, Merced's goal looked a bit too open when Prudencio Urtungo came free, but Sixto Sal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 79th minute, Prudencio Urtungo fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Valentin Nesto managed to get in a good position for a shot. Merced's supporters rose to their feet, but Valentin Nesto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vinicio Thomas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Orlando Arnas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Prudencio Urtungo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sixto Sal having to interfere. Drysdale's Prudencio Urtungo got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
