Spectators: 7216 (Terracing: 5413, Seating: 1660, VIP seats: 143) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Joel Marquez started the match with the kick off. Hermengildo Tartalo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Marquez in the 5th minute of the match. Joel Marquez's late challenge caught a Valdés's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Joel Marquez helped the player get up and apologised. Valdés's Hermengildo Tartalo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Marquez in the 11th minute of play. Joel Marquez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Hermengildo Tartalo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lino Hever's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hermengildo Tartalo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 15th minute of play. When Valdés's Emiliano Lapurdi in the 19th minute got a chance for a shot 19th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye 7 Libertadores's goalie prevented a goal. Emiliano Lapurdi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Gualterio Calvet tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sixto Sanson kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. Emiliano Lapurdi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gualterio Calvet took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Domingos Salvator, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 7 Libertadores's Gualterio Calvet played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Domingos Salvator in the 26th minute of play. The supporters of Valdés booed when 7 Libertadores was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leonides Llope didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sixto Sanson charged in rather forcefully in the 44th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sixto Sanson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 44 played minutes 7 Libertadores got a freekick which was hit by Sixto Sanson. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Domingos Salvator to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute Emiliano Lapurdi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gualterio Calvet saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 54th match minute, 7 Libertadores was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fausto Pirro to maneuver through the defense. Gualterio Calvet made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emiliano Lapurdi in the 55th minute of play. Lino Hever sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 65th minute Joel Marquez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hermengildo Tartalo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Joel Marquez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 68thth minute of the game Joel Marquez who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Valdés's Hermengildo Tartalo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Valdés's Tomás Senen got a free kick in the 69th minute. If Lino Hever had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 75 minutes into the match, Lino Hever notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Valdés's Hermengildo Tartalo. Hermengildo Tartalo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Valdés's Domingos Salvator in 85 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Gualterio Calvet guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. In the 88th match minute, Valdés was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Americo Etxeberri to maneuver through the defense. Joel Marquez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Domingos Salvator had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 7 Libertadores were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
