Spectators: 7257 (Terracing: 5444, Seating: 1669, VIP seats: 144) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Domingos Salvator got the match started through his kick off. When Domingos Salvator came up free with the goalie in the 6th minute, the Valdés fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Domingos Salvator couldn't finish the play. Romulo Lastur charged in rather forcefully in the 8th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Romulo Lastur the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Manantiales Junior FC getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Romulo Lastur hit a great ball. If Domingos Salvator had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Manantiales Junior FC's Nereo Solustiano got a free kick in the 17th minute. Faustino Gaizkine showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Domingos Salvator, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. After a rather tough play, Valdés's Lucas Che got a free kick in the 21st minute. Teodosio Claude hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. Genaro Hermon spun around in front of the goal 24 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Valdés's goal. Abel Porfirio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hermengildo Tartalo having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tomás Senen during the 32nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Valdés getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Tomás Senen hit a great ball. In the 34th minute Emiliano Lapurdi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Faustino Gaizkine saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Valdés's Hermengildo Tartalo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 37th minute of the match, managed to save Valdés from getting a goal against them. When Pedro Dabi fell near the penalty area in the 42nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Valdés's protests and gave Pedro Dabi a yellow card for diving instead. After 42 played minutes Valdés got a freekick which was hit by Pedro Dabi. After a very even first half the match was still tied. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Genaro Hermon made a kick off. Hermengildo Tartalo came out of the goal in the 51st minute to try and stop a shot by Manantiales Junior FC's Genaro Hermon. But to his dismay, Genaro Hermon quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. After a defensive mix-up in Valdés's zone, Abel Porfirio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hermengildo Tartalo came out of the goal and Abel Porfirio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Genaro Hermon blasted a shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Hermengildo Tartalo having to make a save. Hermengildo Tartalo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abel Porfirio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 63 minutes into the match, Manantiales Junior FC's goalkeeper Faustino Gaizkine had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Emiliano Lapurdi. Faustino Gaizkine made a fantastic save in the 64th minute, when Emiliano Lapurdi sent off a good shot on target. When Danilo Frisco fell near the penalty area in the 68th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Valdés's protests and gave Danilo Frisco a yellow card for diving instead. After 70 played minutes, Manantiales Junior FC's Narciso Michael shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Hermengildo Tartalo came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Manantiales Junior FC reached it. Tomás Senen kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. Emiliano Lapurdi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Manantiales Junior FC's Abel Porfirio got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Genaro Hermon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hermengildo Tartalo having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Lucas Che during the 80th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Abel Porfirio in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hermengildo Tartalo saved Valdés from getting behind. Genaro Hermon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hermengildo Tartalo having to interfere. Domingos Salvator received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Faustino Gaizkine tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Manantiales Junior FC's Faustino Gaizkine proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 92nd minute of the match, managed to save Manantiales Junior FC from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Emiliano Lapurdi got free with Faustino Gaizkine in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Emiliano Lapurdi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Valdés's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
