Gualterio Calvet showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pedro Dominic, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Pedro Dominic managed to get in a good position for a shot. River Plate FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Pedro Dominic was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gualterio Calvet breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 16 minutes into the game, one of River Plate FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. After having played for 27 minutes, Pedro Dominic managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. River Plate FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pedro Dominic was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 28th minute, Omar Laffitte hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in 7 Libertadores's zone, Felipe Venerando stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gualterio Calvet came out of the goal and Felipe Venerando tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Joel Marquez took the ball and in the 35 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sivert Martinsson. Sivert Martinsson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Gualterio Calvet stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Pedro Dominic's shot from short distance in the 38th minute. Sivert Martinsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joel Marquez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lino Hever struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Sivert Martinsson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for 7 Libertadores.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Pedro Dominic to strike the kick off in the second half. Felipe Venerando received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Gualterio Calvet tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 54th minute the ball was on its way in behind 7 Libertadores's goalkeeper Gualterio Calvet, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Pedro Dominic came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the River Plate FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pedro Dominic couldn't finish the play. A collision led to 7 Libertadores getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Leonides Llope hit a great ball. After recieving a nice pass, River Plate FC's 武彬强 tried to score from far away in the 62nd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 63rd minute, Pedro Dominic got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Felipe Venerando managed to get in a good position for a shot. River Plate FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Felipe Venerando was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pedro Dominic hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. 7 Libertadores's Gualterio Calvet played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pedro Dominic in the 93rd minute of play. In the 95th minute Pedro Dominic shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gualterio Calvet saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
