Genaro Hermon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gualterio Calvet having to interfere. 26 minutes into the match, Manantiales Junior FC's Genaro Hermon sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gualterio Calvet narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 28th minute Joel Marquez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Faustino Gaizkine saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Paulo Ulizes kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Gualterio Calvet. That made the score 1-2 in the 92 minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in 7 Libertadores's zone, Genaro Hermon stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gualterio Calvet came out of the goal and Genaro Hermon tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Manantiales Junior FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Manantiales Junior FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
