Racing Club's Claudio Botello got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Abelardo Balasi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Estudiantes de la palta getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Adan Asur hit a great ball. A collision led to Racing Club getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Leandro Quico hit a great ball. 17 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Estudiantes de la palta's Braulio Llanos fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. Leonides Ikatz charged in rather forcefully in the 24th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Leonides Ikatz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Leonides Ikatz hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Claudio Botello sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Estudiantes de la palta's zone, Leonardo Atarratze stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Melquiades Paez came out of the goal and Leonardo Atarratze tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 44 minutes into the match, Estudiantes de la palta's goal looked a bit too open when Claudio Botello came free, but Melquiades Paez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 47 minutes, Braulio Llanos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Estudiantes de la palta's supporters crossed their fingers, but Braulio Llanos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Roberto Lluis stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute Braulio Llanos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Gomez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Estudiantes de la palta's zone, Claudio Botello stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Melquiades Paez came out of the goal and Claudio Botello tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Abelardo Balasi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Melquiades Paez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Racing Club's Claudio Botello got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Roberto Lluis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Gomez having to interfere. Fulgencio Veto charged in rather forcefully in the 66th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fulgencio Veto the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 67 played minutes Estudiantes de la palta got a freekick which was hit by Fulgencio Veto. After 71 played minutes Estudiantes de la palta got a freekick which was hit by Melquiades Osasun. 75 minutes into the match, Estudiantes de la palta's goalkeeper Melquiades Paez had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Abelardo Balasi. Claudio Botello sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 77 minutes into the game, Adan Asur was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Estudiantes de la palta's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Racing Club the free kick. In the 77th match minute, Estudiantes de la palta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adan Asur to maneuver through the defense. Adan Asur kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Estudiantes de la palta's zone, Claudio Botello stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Melquiades Paez came out of the goal and Claudio Botello tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Estudiantes de la palta's Fulgencio Veto got a free kick in the 82nd minute. 84 minutes into the game, Claudio Botello recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Melquiades Paez. Claudio Botello showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-1. Melquiades Paez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Claudio Botello, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 90 minutes into the match, Claudio Botello dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Melquiades Paez, 0-2. Braulio Llanos's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Gomez read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 97th minute of play. When the final whistle sounded Racing Club left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Estudiantes de la palta.
