When Ariel Neto fell near the penalty area in the 23rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored River Plate's protests and gave Ariel Neto a yellow card for diving instead. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Felipe Ongile made a kick off. Feliberto Avellaneda showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcelino Santos, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. 59 minutes into the match, River Plate's goalkeeper Mario Garin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Israel Cresenciano.
