Spectators: 7208 (Terracing: 5409, Seating: 1659, VIP seats: 140) River Plate's Marcelino Santos started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Enrique Kepa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcelino Santos in the 4th minute of play. After 5 minutes of play, River Plate's Fabian Nisio made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Enrique Kepa was left in no man's land by his defense there! Mario Garin came out of the goal in the 10th minute to try and stop a shot by Cochagual's Gavino Frutos. But to his dismay, Gavino Frutos quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. In the 19th minute, Damian Larra hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dante Elazar took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 21st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Mario Garin. River Plate's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Mario Garin came out of the goal in the 27th minute to try and stop a shot by Cochagual's Flavio Tiadoro. But to his dismay, Flavio Tiadoro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Marcelino Santos in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Enrique Kepa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Enrique Kepa made a fantastic save in the 37th minute, when Marcelino Santos sent off a good shot on target. In the 41st minute, Gavino Frutos made a precise shot to the right of Mario Garin. River Plate's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. In the 45th minute Flavio Tiadoro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mario Garin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gavino Frutos stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice moves Flavio Tiadoro could shoot a difficult shot in the 52nd minute, which Mario Garin however easily saved by the left post. After having played for 59 minutes, Marcelino Santos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. River Plate's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marcelino Santos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some careless play in the Cochagual defense, Laureano Mero kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Enrique Kepa. The Cochagual fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Enrique Kepa should have stopped the shot. In the 65thth minute of the game Marcelino Santos who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cochagual's Enrique Kepa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Cochagual's Dante Elazar got a free kick in the 69th minute. Mario Garin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edelmiro Venceslao in the 73rd minute of play. Marcelino Santos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Enrique Kepa having to interfere. Mario Garin came out of the goal in the 82nd minute to try and stop a shot by Cochagual's Flavio Tiadoro. But to his dismay, Flavio Tiadoro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-4. Enrique Kepa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fabian Nisio in the 87th minute of the match. Enrique Kepa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcelino Santos, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. After 89 played minutes River Plate got a freekick which was hit by Fabian Nisio. 93 minutes had been played when some careless play by River Plate's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Luciano Savier was slow to take the kick. During this time Cochagual's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Cochagual's Luciano Savier to fire away a dangerous shot which Mario Garin despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Cochagual eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
