With an extended leg and a bit of luck Amancio Ralondo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Saverio Lartaun's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Amancio Ralondo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 12th minute of play. Natalio Eutor fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amancio Ralondo having to interfere. Deportivo Balvanera's Natalio Eutor got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Eloy Ekain had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 93 minutes into the match, Deportivo Balvanera's Natalio Eutor sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Amancio Ralondo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Saverio Lartaun might have been able to make a better finish in the 95th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Amancio Ralondo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Saverio Lartaun ran back to his position shaking his head. Deportivo Balvanera's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
