The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpected shot in the 40th minute by Ricardo Primo got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. La Cicloneta FC's Amancio Ralondo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 41st minute of the match, managed to save La Cicloneta FC from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in La Cicloneta FC's zone, Abelardo Montes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Amancio Ralondo came out of the goal and Abelardo Montes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ricardo Primo hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. After 48 played minutes, La Cicloneta FC's Gerardo Mosen shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Osvaldo Donio came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in La Cicloneta FC reached it. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Leo Lain stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 54th match minute, IVFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Conrado Brais to maneuver through the defense.
