In the 6th minute, Anastasio Aresti left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Giant Killing fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. In the 9th minute, Anastasio Aresti ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Oscar Quintana was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. After 20 minutes Balbastro's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Albino Isadore who took care of the corner kick. If Jonathan Bakar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Mauricio Txerran fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jean-Charles Graffin having to interfere. With his leg Oscar Quintana managed to avoid a goal in the 39thth minute, when Giant Killing's Laureano Senio fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. A collision led to Balbastro getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Roque Atauri hit a great ball. In the 46th minute, Laureano Senio fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. After having played for 48 minutes, Carlos Tevez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Giant Killing's supporters crossed their fingers, but Carlos Tevez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mauricio Txerran made a kick off. Laureano Senio struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Oscar Quintana didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Giant Killing. If Anastasio Aresti had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Oscar Quintana didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Evelio Matia went, in the 62nd minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. The crowd rose to their feet as Mauricio Txerran kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Jean-Charles Graffin. That made the score 4-1 in the 66 minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Laureano Senio in the 72nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Oscar Quintana saved Balbastro from getting behind. 73 minutes into the match, Balbastro's goal looked a bit too open when Osvaldo Demario came free, but Oscar Quintana reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Laureano Senio in the 74th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Oscar Quintana saved Balbastro from getting behind. After a rather tough play, Balbastro's Ricardo Reno got a free kick in the 76th minute. Giant Killing's Albino Isadore couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 77th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Balbastro. After a rather tough play, Balbastro's Virgilio Enekoitz got a free kick in the 81st minute. If Carlos Tevez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Balbastro's Oscar Quintana played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Laureano Senio in the 88th minute of play. After 90 played minutes Balbastro got a freekick which was hit by Ricardo Reno. In the 94th minute, Laureano Senio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the referee ended the match the Giant Killing players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
