Mario Cresconio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Gustavo Cordarrell tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Guillermo Cortez was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The wind increased when Ernesto Barrionuevo made the kick off in the second half. Ernesto Barrionuevo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 54th minute the ball was on its way in behind Pavón's goalkeeper Gustavo Cordarrell, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 58 minutes, Mario Chayo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ercoupe FC and the Pavón players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 59 played minutes Ercoupe FC got a freekick which was hit by Mario Chayo. Ercoupe FC's Guillermo Cortez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Martin Rosalio in the 65th minute of play. 72 minutes into the match, Pavón's goal looked a bit too open when Ernesto Barrionuevo came free, but Gustavo Cordarrell reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Martin Rosalio couldn't finish the play. Melchor Mano hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. The Pavón supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Pavón would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
