When Silvio Aguirre fell near the penalty area in the 28th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Chelco's protests and gave Silvio Aguirre a yellow card for diving instead. In the 27th minute, one of Chelco:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Chelco. Bernardo Bladi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Simon Crescencio read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 32nd minute of play. Niceto Kemen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rodrigo Iaki having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Niceto Kemen managed to get in a good position for a shot. Matambre's supporters rose to their feet, but Niceto Kemen was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rodrigo Iaki breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

After having played for 52 minutes, Bernardo Montes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chelco's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bernardo Montes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Simon Crescencio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bernardo Bladi in the 56th minute of the match. In the 60th minute, Cleto Lehoi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Florencio Urre during the 61st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. If Bernardo Bladi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Baltasar Raphael kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match.
