In the 5th minute of the match, Tobiasz Pilitowski tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Bonifacio Pancho saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Bonifacio Pancho made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mauricio Ayala in the 9th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tobiasz Pilitowski in the 13th minute of play forced Los Cardales's goalkeeper Bonifacio Pancho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Evelio Dalmau in the 15th minute of play forced Club Atlético River Plate's goalkeeper Primitivo Cilio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 26th minute, Evelio Dalmau left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Los Cardales fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. When Eulalio Emesto fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Los Cardales's protests and gave Eulalio Emesto a yellow card for diving instead. After 29 played minutes Los Cardales got a freekick which was hit by Eulalio Emesto. 1-1 became the score in the 31st minute when Mauricio Ayala elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Los Cardales's zone, Salvador Omero stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bonifacio Pancho came out of the goal and Salvador Omero tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 36th minute, Club Atlético River Plate's Mauricio Ayala dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-1. After 43 played minutes Club Atlético River Plate got a freekick which was hit by Fabiën Vervoort. Evelio Dalmau sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mauricio Ayala was the one to do the kick off. When Evelio Dalmau came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Los Cardales fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Evelio Dalmau couldn't finish the play. Evelio Dalmau's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Primitivo Cilio read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 57th minute of play. In the 58th match minute, Club Atlético River Plate was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eriberto Rocio to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Los Cardales getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Pablo Naelio hit a great ball. Tobiasz Pilitowski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bonifacio Pancho having to interfere. In the 71st minute, Mauricio Ayala made a precise shot to the right of Bonifacio Pancho. Los Cardales's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. In the 74thth minute of the game Mauricio Ayala who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Los Cardales's Bonifacio Pancho was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tobiasz Pilitowski in the 75th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bonifacio Pancho saved Los Cardales from getting behind. Bonifacio Pancho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eriberto Rocio, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Bonifacio Pancho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mauricio Ayala in the 87th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tobiasz Pilitowski in the 90th minute of play forced Los Cardales's goalkeeper Bonifacio Pancho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
