Honorio Virila blasted a shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Abel Gaufred having to make a save. Abel Gaufred took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Honorio Virila, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Honorio Virila fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Thames's protests and gave Honorio Virila a yellow card for diving instead. In the 29th minute, Honorio Virila hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Elias Abadie, 30 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. If Florencio Calvet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Samuel Macerio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gonzalo Vergaray in the 42nd minute of play. Samuel Macerio didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Piquete's Gonzalo Vergaray shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 0-2 in the ordered_time% minute. The Thames players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Piquete were winning 0-2.

54 minutes into the match, Thames's goalkeeper Samuel Macerio had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Florencio Calvet. Gonzalo Vergaray sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 61 minutes into the game, Edgardo Enol was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Thames's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Piquete the free kick. In a very dangerous position, a player in Thames fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 61st minute. Penalty! Elias Abadie shot the penalty kick right outside the post. If Florencio Calvet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Thames booed when Piquete was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gonzalo Vergaray didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 79thth minute of the game Fidel Montay who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Piquete's Abel Gaufred was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Fidel Montay received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Abel Gaufred tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gonzalo Vergaray in the 90th minute of play forced Thames's goalkeeper Samuel Macerio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Eriberto Dalmau came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Thames fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eriberto Dalmau couldn't finish the play. Gonzalo Vergaray fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 98th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Samuel Macerio having to interfere. In the 100th minute the ball was on its way in behind Thames's goalkeeper Samuel Macerio, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Piquete played a much better game than Thames and deserved their victory. The Thames players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
