Jairo Markel's late challenge caught a Club Atlético River Plate's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jairo Markel helped the player get up and apologised. After 25 played minutes Aive AFC got a freekick which was hit by Jairo Markel. When the match had gone on for 27 minutes, Mauricio Ayala put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Garland Sampson. Cirilo Eguzki hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Club Atlético River Plate's Primitivo Cilio proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to save Club Atlético River Plate from getting a goal against them. Jairo Markel recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 47 minutes into the match, Jairo Markel had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Primitivo Cilio. Club Atlético River Plate's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jairo Markel was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The wind increased when Mauricio Ayala made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tobiasz Pilitowski in the 56th minute of play forced Aive AFC's goalkeeper Garland Sampson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 56 minutes into the match, Tobiasz Pilitowski dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Garland Sampson, 2-2. Mauricio Ayala in the 62ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal.
