La banda River Plate's Benicio Mannie got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gaspar Rito to strike the kick off in the second half. Gaspar Rito might have been able to make a better finish in the 70th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ladislao Gil. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gaspar Rito ran back to his position shaking his head. The referee felt a red card was in order, 72 minutes into the game, when Jonatan Luzaide put in a rough tackle. In the 71st minute, one of La banda River Plate:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for La banda River Plate. After a defensive mix-up in Atlético Titán's zone, Benicio Mannie stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cayetano Beremundo came out of the goal and Benicio Mannie tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 78th minute, Samuel Ourente had to leave the field with a concussion. 78 minutes into the game, Manuel Iban was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Atlético Titán's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave La banda River Plate the free kick. La banda River Plate's Abelardo Cibran was substituted for Samuel Ourente. In the 79th match minute, Atlético Titán was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Manuel Iban to maneuver through the defense. In a very dangerous position, a player in Atlético Titán fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 80th minute. Penalty!
