An unexpectedly hard shot by Ciriaco Ortzi in the 5th minute of play forced Olimpia Juniors's goalkeeper Aldo Luar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ciriaco Ortzi struck a weak shot in the 10th minute. Aldo Luar didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mogotes. Mogotes's Adrian Aurre played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Remigio Aureo in the 14th minute of play. 15 minutes into the match, Olimpia Juniors's Julian Marz sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Adrian Aurre narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Fausto Cesaro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Olimpia Juniors's supporters rose to their feet, but Fausto Cesaro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Adrian Aurre breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 24 played minutes Olimpia Juniors got a freekick which was hit by Remigio Aureo. Ciriaco Ortzi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Julian Marz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Adrian Aurre tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Ciriaco Ortzi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eulalio Nastasio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ciriaco Ortzi scored 0-1 in the 45th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Aldo Luar, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ciriaco Ortzi to make the kick off. A collision led to Mogotes getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Emanuel Arias hit a great ball. Olimpia Juniors's Fausto Cesaro suffered a concussion after 53 minutes and had to leave the field. After 54 played minutes Mogotes got a freekick which was hit by Hernan Cresitobalo. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Julian Marz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Olimpia Juniors's supporters rose to their feet, but Julian Marz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Adrian Aurre breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 60 minutes, Eulalio Nastasio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mogotes's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eulalio Nastasio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Olimpia Juniors's zone, Ciriaco Ortzi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aldo Luar came out of the goal and Ciriaco Ortzi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Mogotes getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Eulalio Nastasio hit a great ball. Adrian Aurre didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Julian Marz went, in the 85th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. After 90 played minutes Olimpia Juniors got a freekick which was hit by Ubaldo Errapel. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Marcial Ostots during the 92nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 92nd minute, Marcial Ostots hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Aldo Luar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ciriaco Ortzi in the 93rd minute of play. The Olimpia Juniors fans' excitement grew in the 94th match minute when Olimpia Juniors's Julian Marz looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Olimpia Juniors were victorious despite being under pressure from Mogotes for much of the match.
