Gervasio Nahia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Lucio Fertus tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 6 played minutes Kracatunga FC got a freekick which was hit by Delmar Dacio. After having played for 7 minutes, Bonifacio Nesor managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Phoenix's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bonifacio Nesor was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Oscar Mitxaut fell near the penalty area in the 8th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Kracatunga FC's protests and gave Oscar Mitxaut a yellow card for diving instead. Arnaldo Montrelle hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. Gervasio Nahia recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gervasio Nahia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Lucio Fertus tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Phoenix getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Alejo Colas hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Claudio Furman in the 21st minute of play forced Kracatunga FC's goalkeeper Lucio Fertus to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Phoenix were furious when Alejo Colas was red carded, 22 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 26 played minutes, Kracatunga FC's Aurelio Brion shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Aquilino Udalaitz came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Kracatunga FC reached it. If Arnaldo Montrelle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 33 minutes into the match, Leo Roano had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Lucio Fertus. Kracatunga FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Leo Roano was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. After having played for 36 minutes, Leo Roano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Phoenix's supporters crossed their fingers, but Leo Roano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lucio Fertus made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Claudio Furman in the 38th minute of play. Manuel Criston received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Lucio Fertus tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Arnaldo Montrelle fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lucio Fertus having to interfere. Lucio Fertus showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arnaldo Montrelle, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Aquilino Udalaitz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Geronimo Oriche's shot from short distance in the 53rd minute. The supporters of Phoenix booed when Kracatunga FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Domingo Jakue didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 58th minute, Arnaldo Montrelle hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Phoenix's Aquilino Udalaitz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oscar Mitxaut in the 61st minute of play. Aquilino Udalaitz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Geronimo Oriche, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 82nd minute Geronimo Oriche shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aquilino Udalaitz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Bonifacio Nesor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Arnaldo Montrelle received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Lucio Fertus tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 96th minute Oscar Mitxaut shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aquilino Udalaitz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Phoenix's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
