Spectators: 7280 (Terracing: 5462, Seating: 1674, VIP seats: 144) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Julian Marz took the kick off in the first half of the match. Claudio Furman hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. In the 9th minute the ball was on its way in behind Phoenix's goalkeeper Aquilino Udalaitz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 18th minute, Olimpia Juniors's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Gervasio Nahia fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Aquilino Udalaitz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julian Marz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Phoenix's Alejo Colas got a free kick in the 24th minute. Aldo Luar came out of the goal in the 30th minute to try and stop a shot by Phoenix's Gervasio Nahia. But to his dismay, Gervasio Nahia quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Leo Roano struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Aldo Luar didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Phoenix. Aldo Luar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Claudio Furman, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. 40 minutes into the match, Olimpia Juniors's goal looked a bit too open when Alejo Colas came free, but Aldo Luar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The corner led Phoenix's Bonifacio Nesor to fire away a dangerous shot which Aldo Luar despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The supporters of Olimpia Juniors booed when Phoenix was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Teobaldo Lartaun didn't get a good kick on the ball. 46 minutes into the match, Phoenix's goal looked a bit too open when Ubaldo Sasoin came free, but Aquilino Udalaitz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Gervasio Nahia came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Phoenix fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gervasio Nahia couldn't finish the play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Gervasio Nahia made the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute Phoenix were awarded a corner. Bonifacio Nesor went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Olimpia Juniors's goalie and right to Manuel Criston. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Olimpia Juniors's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Gervasio Nahia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Julian Marz kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. If Gervasio Nahia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 66 minutes into the game, Eusebio Peli was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Olimpia Juniors's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Phoenix the free kick. After a defensive mix-up in Olimpia Juniors's zone, Gervasio Nahia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aldo Luar came out of the goal and Gervasio Nahia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alejo Colas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gervasio Nahia might have been able to make a better finish in the 79th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Aldo Luar. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gervasio Nahia ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 81st minute, Alejo Colas made a precise shot to the right of Aldo Luar. Olimpia Juniors's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. After some careless play in the Olimpia Juniors defense, Gervasio Nahia kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Aldo Luar. The Olimpia Juniors fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Aldo Luar should have stopped the shot. Lázaro Maore fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aldo Luar having to interfere. Aldo Luar came out of the goal in the 93rd minute to try and stop a shot by Phoenix's Gervasio Nahia. But to his dismay, Gervasio Nahia quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-0. After 96 minutes of play Phoenix's Teobaldo Lartaun was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Phoenix had played much better football throughout.
