The referee ignored Rincón's protests and gave Leonel Bautista a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Rincón getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Leonel Bautista hit a great ball. When River Plate de San Rafael's Artemio Milian in the 11th minute got a chance for a shot 11th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Rincón's goalie prevented a goal. Artemio Milian fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ton Ayhan having to interfere. With a little luck, Rincón's Ton Ayhan got control of the ball when Hernan Lizer tried to sneak it across the goal line. Aureliano Lehen blasted a shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Enrique Cloyo having to make a save. When Rincón's Francisco Columbo in the 19th minute got a chance for a shot 19th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye River Plate de San Rafael's goalie prevented a goal. Hernan Lizer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Ton Ayhan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 28th minute Artemio Milian shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ton Ayhan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In a very dangerous position, a player in Rincón fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 32nd minute. Penalty! The goalkeeper, Ton Ayhan, was totally fooled by River Plate de San Rafael's Victorino Hermelando, who 33 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. River Plate de San Rafael's Hernan Lizer got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Artemio Milian might have been able to make a better finish in the 44th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ton Ayhan. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Artemio Milian ran back to his position shaking his head. Francisco Columbo struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Enrique Cloyo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rincón.

With a couple of smart ball manuevers Artemio Milian in the 56th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ton Ayhan saved Rincón from getting behind. Artemio Milian fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ton Ayhan having to interfere. Julian Froila charged in rather forcefully in the 67th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Julian Froila the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Julian Froila hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. Artemio Milian received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Ton Ayhan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 76 minutes, Artemio Milian managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. River Plate de San Rafael's supporters crossed their fingers, but Artemio Milian was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ton Ayhan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Artemio Milian, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. After 82 played minutes River Plate de San Rafael got a freekick which was hit by Jaime Astudillo. The River Plate de San Rafael fans' excitement grew in the 85th match minute when River Plate de San Rafael's Hernan Lizer looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. For all the effort they put into the match, the Rincón players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for River Plate de San Rafael.
