When the match had gone on for 17 minutes, Alvaro Salvino took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Fausto Honesto to make any attempt to save it. After 20 played minutes El Hombre Tinta got a freekick which was hit by Niceto Pinto. Fausto Honesto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leonardo Iraitz, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Carlos Pelayo might have been able to make a better finish in the 23rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rodrigo Bernard. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Carlos Pelayo ran back to his position shaking his head. If Carlos Pelayo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 27 minutes into the match, El Hombre Tinta's Edgardo Valentine sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rodrigo Bernard narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Eloy Alfonso shot a long shot in the 30th minute and a light blocked Fausto Honesto hadn't a chance when the ball went into goal on his right side. It was 2-0. El Hombre Tinta's Edgardo Valentine got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 38th minute of the match Pastor Abreu sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Rodrigo Bernard skillfully saved the ball. 40 minutes into the match, El Hombre Tinta's Edgardo Valentine sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rodrigo Bernard narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

In the 95th minute Carlos Pelayo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rodrigo Bernard saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
