After 23 played minutes Gimnasia y Esgrima LP got a freekick which was hit by Eduardo Lauren. osomalo's Alfredo Marques couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute. An unexpected shot in the 41st minute by Prospero Gaskon got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 44th minute, Basilio Rioja fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. The supporters of osomalo booed when Gimnasia y Esgrima LP was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Artemio Cambranes didn't get a good kick on the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.
