When Gimnasia y Esgrima LP's Feliberto Lidon in 25 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Abelardo Avellaneda showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ernesto Gervaso, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. When the match clock showed 45 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Ernesto Gervaso sped through Gimnasia y Esgrima LP's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Abelardo Avellaneda. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Gimnasia y Esgrima LP's Abelardo Avellaneda played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Desiderio Guib in the 92nd minute of play. The Tamberías FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Tamberías FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
