Eleuterio Dabi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Modesto Bieito, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Independiente FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Jesus Harkaitz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Guillermo Pere breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jesus Harkaitz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Independiente FC's Benito Jerrold got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 91st minute Benito Jerrold shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Guillermo Pere saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee ended the match the Independiente FC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
