Rogelio Eliazar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aldo Rik having to interfere. Aaron Senin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 17 played minutes River Plate got a freekick which was hit by Gaudencio Gabon. 20 minutes into the match, La banda del Matadero's goal looked a bit too open when Arsenio Cordarrol came free, but Ubaldo Ramirez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 23rd minute, River Plate's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Rogelio Eliazar fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. 24 minutes into the match, River Plate's goal looked a bit too open when Antonio Guillelmo came free, but Aldo Rik reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 26th minute, Edgard Montes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Aldo Rik made a fantastic save in the 27th minute, when Raimundo Raymond sent off a good shot on target. In the 33rd match minute, River Plate was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Melchor Enol to maneuver through the defense. 39 minutes into the match, River Plate's goalkeeper Aldo Rik had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rogelio Eliazar. La banda del Matadero's Roque Liberto got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Emanuel Itzaina to make the kick off. Rogelio Eliazar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Aaron Senin managed to get in a good position for a shot. La banda del Matadero's supporters rose to their feet, but Aaron Senin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aldo Rik breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 58th minute Rogelio Eliazar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aldo Rik saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the River Plate defense, Silvano Isauro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Aldo Rik. The River Plate fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Aldo Rik should have stopped the shot. Aldo Rik didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Antonio Guillelmo went, in the 65th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. 69 minutes into the match, River Plate's goal looked a bit too open when Rogelio Eliazar came free, but Aldo Rik reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Silvano Isauro blasted a shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Aldo Rik having to make a save. Lázaro Gustau hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Natalio Porfirio charged in rather forcefully in the 72nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Natalio Porfirio the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of La banda del Matadero booed when River Plate was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Natalio Porfirio didn't get a good kick on the ball. River Plate's Aldo Rik played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Antonio Guillelmo in the 77th minute of play. In the 79th minute, Rogelio Eliazar ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Aldo Rik was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. Raimundo Raymond received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Aldo Rik tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 87th minute Antonio Guillelmo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aldo Rik saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, River Plate's Melchor Enol got a free kick in the 88th minute. In the 89th minute, Melchor Enol hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ubaldo Ramirez made a fantastic save in the 94th minute, when Arsenio Cordarrol sent off a good shot on target. Rogelio Eliazar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. There was no doubt that La banda del Matadero were the better team. La banda del Matadero's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
