In the 9th match minute, Darwen Football Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aristides Bonifaco to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Santo Erroman managed to get in a good position for a shot. Olain's supporters rose to their feet, but Santo Erroman was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Iacob Petruț breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Anselmo Odilon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 18 minutes, Bruno Cheche made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Darwen Football Club's Iacob Petruț tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Anselmo Odilon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Teofilo Gasteiz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Bruno Cheche to strike the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice moves Emanuel Fonso could shoot a difficult shot in the 55th minute, which Iacob Petruț however easily saved by the left post. If Braulio Urtats had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Olain's Teofilo Gasteiz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anselmo Odilon in the 60th minute of play. After 61 minutes Olain's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Anselmo Odilon who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Aristides Bonifaco almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Olain's Teofilo Gasteiz did a great save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Braulio Urtats in the 64th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Teofilo Gasteiz saved Olain from getting behind. After 68 minutes, Gonzalo Kimetz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Darwen Football Club and the Olain players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Darwen Football Club getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Gonzalo Kimetz hit a great ball. 72 minutes in the game, Bruno Cheche fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Iacob Petruț having to interfere. With 77 minutes on the clock, Venancio Guerrero commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. The goalkeeper, Iacob Petruț, was totally fooled by Olain's Santo Erroman, who 79 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Emanuel Fonso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iacob Petruț having to interfere. Olain were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Darwen Football Club's much stronger midfield.
