The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Eloy Vincente during the 4th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Cristian Clemencin was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 5th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 6th match minute, Recreo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gualterio Abadia to maneuver through the defense. Recreo's Cornelio Gamus proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 7th minute of the match, managed to save Recreo from getting a goal against them. Everardo Iturri received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Cornelio Gamus tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 10 minutes into the match, Recreo's goal looked a bit too open when Everardo Iturri came free, but Cornelio Gamus reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 11 minutes, Romulo Eneto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Matuka's supporters crossed their fingers, but Romulo Eneto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Everardo Iturri sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Romulo Eneto struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Cornelio Gamus didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Matuka. Everardo Iturri recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Eloy Vincente sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fulgencio Cidro in the 33rd minute of play forced Matuka's goalkeeper Natalio Formerio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dionisio Serafo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Fulgencio Cidro to strike the kick off in the second half. Natalio Formerio didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 51st minute, which inside left pole to 0-1. 58 minutes into the match, Recreo's Fulgencio Cidro sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Natalio Formerio narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Cornelio Gamus showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Romulo Eneto in the 63rd minute of the match. In the 64th minute, Gualterio Abadia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Serafin Vela's late challenge caught a Matuka's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Serafin Vela helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Matuka booed when Recreo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Serafin Vela didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match clock showed 69 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Everardo Iturri sped through Recreo's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Cornelio Gamus. When Everardo Iturri fell near the penalty area in the 88th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Matuka's protests and gave Everardo Iturri a yellow card for diving instead. Everardo Iturri fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cornelio Gamus having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Recreo's zone, Romulo Eneto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cornelio Gamus came out of the goal and Romulo Eneto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
