Gonzalo Aznar came out of the goal in the 9th minute to try and stop a shot by Sportivo Villa Salas's Benjamin Cuartio. But to his dismay, Benjamin Cuartio quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. The supporters of Alicante FC booed when Sportivo Villa Salas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Teobaldo Sein didn't get a good kick on the ball. Benjamin Cuartio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gogo Liberto in the 19th minute of play forced Sportivo Villa Salas's goalkeeper Luisito Goiz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sportivo Villa Salas's Luisito Goiz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fabricio Precioso in the 21st minute of play. Bernardo Ioritz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 24th minute of the match, but Gonzalo Aznar made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in Sportivo Villa Salas's zone, Fabricio Precioso stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luisito Goiz came out of the goal and Fabricio Precioso tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 33 minutes, Benjamin Cuartio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sportivo Villa Salas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Benjamin Cuartio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sportivo Villa Salas's Bernardo Ioritz got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Luisito Goiz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gogo Liberto in the 40th minute of play. Gogo Liberto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Fabricio Precioso made the kick off in the second half. Gonzalo Aznar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benjamin Cuartio in the 51st minute of play. Sportivo Villa Salas's Luisito Goiz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fabricio Precioso in the 53rd minute of play. When Fabricio Precioso came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Alicante FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fabricio Precioso couldn't finish the play. Benjamin Cuartio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Gonzalo Aznar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gonzalo Aznar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bernardo Ioritz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Edgard Quirze kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. 66 minutes into the match, Alicante FC's goal looked a bit too open when Benjamin Cuartio came free, but Gonzalo Aznar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 67thth minute of the game Bernardo Ioritz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Alicante FC's Gonzalo Aznar was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 70 minutes, Benjamin Cuartio made it 3-0 with a short kick to the right side. Alicante FC's Gonzalo Aznar tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. When Teobaldo Sein came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Sportivo Villa Salas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Teobaldo Sein couldn't finish the play. In the 92nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Alicante FC's goalkeeper Gonzalo Aznar, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 97 played minutes, Alicante FC's Higinio Goito shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Luisito Goiz came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Alicante FC reached it. Sportivo Villa Salas's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
