Fabio Caitano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Angel Orzaize, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. Jesus Donzel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Fabio Caitano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Godofredo Costante received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Victor Gar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Jesus Donzel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 18th minute, Aquiles Montxo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Angel Orzaize came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Ranquilcó fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Angel Orzaize couldn't finish the play. Arsenio Lixandro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Victor Gar having to interfere. 26 minutes into the match, Ranquilcó's goalkeeper Victor Gar had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Arsenio Lixandro. Bernabe Kaxen kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. After having played for 37 minutes, Jesus Donzel managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ranquilcó's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jesus Donzel was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Ranquilcó's Ciro Sengrat got a free kick in the 42nd minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Godofredo Costante to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Ranquilcó's goalkeeper Victor Gar, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Victor Gar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Godofredo Costante, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Ranquilcó defense, Godofredo Costante kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Victor Gar. The Ranquilcó fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Victor Gar should have stopped the shot. Arsenio Lixandro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Victor Gar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arsenio Lixandro in the 70th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Ranquilcó's zone, Arsenio Lixandro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Victor Gar came out of the goal and Arsenio Lixandro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ranquilcó's Victor Gar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leonel Fidencio in the 74th minute of play. In the 76th minute Godofredo Costante shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Victor Gar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arsenio Lixandro spun around in front of the goal 77 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Ranquilcó's goal. Arsenio Lixandro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Victor Gar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Godofredo Costante's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Victor Gar was relentless in the 82nd minute of the game. Ranquilcó's Victor Gar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arsenio Lixandro in the 86th minute of play. In the 88th minute, Ranquilcó's Bernabe Kaxen seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Bernabe Kaxen the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Ranquilcó protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Bernabe Kaxen had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 91st minute there was a penalty for Potrero. Abelardo Amaya stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Victor Gar. 3-0. Victor Gar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Godofredo Costante in the 96th minute of play. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Potrero had played much better football throughout.
