After a rather tough play, San Lorenzo Arenales's Sergio Olivar got a free kick in the 13th minute. In the 17th minute, Virgilio Endira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Eloy Evangelista during the 20th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. When Arnulfo Celino came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the San Lorenzo Arenales fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arnulfo Celino couldn't finish the play. In the 26th minute Arnulfo Celino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gustavo Gaspard saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 74 played minutes San Lorenzo Arenales got a freekick which was hit by Virgilio Endira. 77 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Foolbolito FC's Teodosio Tallia fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. If Arnulfo Celino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 82nd minute, San Lorenzo Arenales's Amancio Ceandro ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Gustavo Gaspard. Gustavo Gaspard yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. The supporters of San Lorenzo Arenales booed when Foolbolito FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Danilo Banegas didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 89th minute, Fulgencio Euloxu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A well-hit corner resulted in Jose Tirso heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. The San Lorenzo Arenales supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing San Lorenzo Arenales would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
