A collision led to Monsalvo AFC getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Jonathan Lehior hit a great ball. 15 minutes into the match, Monsalvo AFC's goalkeeper Gaspar Gabon had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Maximo Deunoro. Maximo Deunoro's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Gaspar Gabon firmly grabbed it by the left post. Jairo Tabby hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. In the 24th minute Arturo Felipo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jesus Pinto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Valentin Niguel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Jesus Pinto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ciro Urtats charged in rather forcefully in the 53rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ciro Urtats the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 53 played minutes Monsalvo AFC got a freekick which was hit by Ciro Urtats. Maximo Deunoro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Gaspar Gabon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pastor Cesaro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gaspar Gabon having to interfere. Valentin Niguel struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Jesus Pinto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Monsalvo AFC. Jesus Pinto made a fantastic save in the 96th minute, when Valentin Niguel sent off a good shot on target. For all the effort they put into the match, the Monsalvo AFC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Deportivo Merlo.
