Gaspar Gabon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half Monsalvo AFC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

After 53 played minutes Monsalvo AFC got a freekick which was hit by Severo Ritchie. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Primitivo Sugoi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Independiente's supporters rose to their feet, but Primitivo Sugoi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post.
