In the 10th minute, Angelino Guillelmus got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Angelino Guillelmus managed to get in a good position for a shot. Jobson 's supporters rose to their feet, but Angelino Guillelmus was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fermin Estefan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Isidro Roldan's late challenge caught a Jobson 's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Isidro Roldan helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Jobson booed when CA Leones was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Isidro Roldan didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leonides Tabby in the 21st minute of play forced Jobson 's goalkeeper Eulalio Balendin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 25th match minute, CA Leones was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Albano Feliz to maneuver through the defense. In the 27th minute, Angelino Guillelmus fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Fermin Estefan, passed just outside the right post. Fermin Estefan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Geronimo Tomi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Geronimo Tomi in the 37th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fermin Estefan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 37 minutes, Delmar Tauro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the CA Leones and the Jobson players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 37th minute, Delmar Tauro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 44th minute Erasmo Santxol shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eulalio Balendin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Erasmo Santxol's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eulalio Balendin read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 48th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.
