Angelo Hernando made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ruperto Ortzi in the 26th minute of play. When Felix Caton fell near the penalty area in the 28th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cintra's protests and gave Felix Caton a yellow card for diving instead. If Ruperto Ortzi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ruperto Ortzi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Angelo Hernando having to interfere. A collision led to Cintra getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Felix Caton hit a great ball. When the match had gone on for 36 minutes, Ruperto Ortzi put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Angelo Hernando. Basilio Igon shot the penalty kick right outside the post. 46 minutes into the match, Cintra's goal looked a bit too open when Eusebio Aritza came free, but Angelo Hernando reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After the first half alumni azuleño were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Fernan Eriz stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Sebastian Eliazar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pascual Hustaz in the 55th minute of the match. In the 71st minute Pascual Hustaz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sebastian Eliazar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 80th match minute, Cintra was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felix Caton to maneuver through the defense. Ricardo Tximitx kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. If Eusebio Aritza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Paulo Soter received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Angelo Hernando tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
