The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Estudiantes LP's Danilo Valiente played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Freddy Lohitzun in the 3rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gaudencio Chabier in the 4th minute of play forced Tacural's goalkeeper Enrique Chuan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Americo Crispo got free with Enrique Chuan in the 8th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 11th minute, Victoriano Veto left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Tacural fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Zeledon Iruinea received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Danilo Valiente tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Enrique Chuan was out of position in the 22 minute of play, and Gaudencio Chabier capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Gaudencio Chabier really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. Serafin Mazuste kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. 31 minutes into the game, Tacural's Freddy Lohitzun nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Danilo Valiente made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. In the 36th minute of the match Silverio Paskal shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Danilo Valiente showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Danilo Valiente made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lucas Carlomagno in the 39th minute of play. Victor Felo hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. Danilo Valiente stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Freddy Lohitzun's shot from short distance in the 44th minute. In the 45th match minute, Estudiantes LP was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Niceto Lertxun to maneuver through the defense. When the match clock showed 47 minutes, the score became 1-3 when Freddy Lohitzun sped through Estudiantes LP's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Danilo Valiente. The Estudiantes LP players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Tacural were winning 1-3.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Freddy Lohitzun to make the kick off. Lucas Carlomagno's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Danilo Valiente read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 56th minute of play. Lucas Carlomagno sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 66 minutes into the match, Americo Crispo notched a goal, 2-3, to the right of Tacural's Enrique Chuan. Enrique Chuan was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Freddy Lohitzun sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alonzo Illart took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 72nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Enrique Chuan. After some careless play in the Tacural defense, Gaudencio Chabier kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Enrique Chuan. The Tacural fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Enrique Chuan should have stopped the shot. Enrique Chuan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adrian Frisco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Lucas Carlomagno had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Freddy Lohitzun scored 3-4 in the 86th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Danilo Valiente, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 89 minutes into the game, one of Tacural:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Estudiantes LP a penalty, 91 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Hermengildo Goito, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Tacural's Enrique Chuan. 4-4. Higinio Azevedo took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 96th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Danilo Valiente. Estudiantes LP's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Freddy Lohitzun did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 4-5 to the left of a surprised Danilo Valiente 98 minutes into the match.
