An unexpectedly hard shot by Venancio Paskal in the 6th minute of play forced FC Goretti's goalkeeper Celestino Txema to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Chapuy's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Danilo Eusko 12 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. After some careless play in the Chapuy defense, Casimiro Maura kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Melquiades Cugat. The Chapuy fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Melquiades Cugat should have stopped the shot. The supporters of FC Goretti booed when Chapuy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gilberto Gora didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Casimiro Maura managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Goretti's supporters rose to their feet, but Casimiro Maura was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Melquiades Cugat breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Chapuy's Manuel Ixaka got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Benito Valerio's late challenge caught a Chapuy's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Benito Valerio helped the player get up and apologised. In the 34th minute, Benito Valerio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Melquiades Cugat took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Danilo Eusko, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Octavio Sustrai had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Casimiro Maura sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Danilo Eusko stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Chapuy's goal looked a bit too open when Casimiro Maura came free, but Melquiades Cugat reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 55th minute Danilo Eusko shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Melquiades Cugat saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Manuel Ixaka got his second yellow card in the match during the 56th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. When FC Goretti's Danilo Eusko, in the 71st minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for FC Goretti. The supporters of FC Goretti booed when Chapuy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eduardo Lalla didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 76 played minutes FC Goretti got a freekick which was hit by Danilo Eusko. In the 78th match minute, Chapuy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Venancio Paskal to maneuver through the defense. When Casimiro Maura came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the FC Goretti fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Casimiro Maura couldn't finish the play. FC Goretti's Guaberto Koldobika got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cipriano Jaume received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Melquiades Cugat tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. FC Goretti's Casimiro Maura got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 90 played minutes Chapuy got a freekick which was hit by Melquiades Chan. The supporters of Chapuy booed when FC Goretti was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Casimiro Maura didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 95 minutes of play Chapuy's Venancio Paskal was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After a rather tough play, Chapuy's Venancio Paskal got a free kick in the 95th minute. FC Goretti walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
