An unexpectedly hard shot by Agustin Marcones in the 9th minute of play forced Gimnasia y Facón - L. P.'s goalkeeper Eliseo Rainerio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 10 minutes into the game, Roberto Bortzaioriz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gimnasia y Facón - L. P.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tambillo AFC the free kick. Martin Cordario showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Freddy Egoi in the 37th minute of the match. Martin Cordario made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Freddy Egoi in the 42nd minute of play. In the 43rd minute, Freddy Egoi left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Gimnasia y Facón - L. P. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3.

Jaime Arnau struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Martin Cordario didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gimnasia y Facón - L. P.. Freddy Egoi received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Jaime Arnau blasted a shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Martin Cordario having to make a save. Gimnasia y Facón - L. P.'s Jaime Arnau got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 79th minute of the match Evaristo Florian shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Martin Cordario showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Martin Cordario made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Freddy Egoi in the 87th minute of play. Jaime Arnau's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 93rdth minute, Martin Cordario skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal.
