The referee ignored Ranchillos AFC's protests and gave Victorio Jurdan a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Ranchillos AFC's Victorio Jurdan got a free kick in the 33rd minute. Ciriaco Dei made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Severo Chan in the 35th minute of play. A collision led to La Patada Cubana getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Ranchillos AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave La Patada Cubana the free kick.

Angel Mino kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. The La Patada Cubana supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing La Patada Cubana would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
