In the 6thth minute of the game Bartolo Herena who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Xr 250's Ubaldo Ospin was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Ubaldo Ospin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bartolo Herena, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Don Pedro II booed when Xr 250 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Denis Fernandes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Xr 250's Ubaldo Ospin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bartolo Herena in the 10th minute of play. If Danilo Eutor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bartolo Herena did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-0 to the left of a surprised Ubaldo Ospin 13 minutes into the match. Bartolo Herena's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 17thth minute, Ubaldo Ospin skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 19 minutes into the game, Esteban Rivero was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Xr 250's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Don Pedro II the free kick. With an all-out effort, Don Pedro II's Ubaldo Ospin threw himself towards the right post 28 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Bartolo Herena, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Xr 250's Ubaldo Ospin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bartolo Herena in the 30th minute of play. Silvio Rocio was extremely unlucky when he, in the 33rd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Virgilio Dabi charged in rather forcefully in the 34th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Virgilio Dabi the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Virgilio Dabi kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. Silvio Rocio struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Ubaldo Ospin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Don Pedro II. Yuri Batuecas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Paulino Lano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hugo Selatse, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

In the 53rd minute of the match Xr 250 got a corner. Don Pedro II's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Virgilio Dabi ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Xr 250's corner Virgilio Dabi fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Paulino Lano quite easily take care of the ball. Ubaldo Ospin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bartolo Herena in the 62nd minute of play. Cesar Iztal hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Xr 250's zone, Silvio Rocio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ubaldo Ospin came out of the goal and Silvio Rocio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 70th minute, Danilo Eutor hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Don Pedro II booed when Xr 250 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Martin Erroman didn't get a good kick on the ball. 73 minutes into the match, Xr 250's goal looked a bit too open when Bartolo Herena came free, but Ubaldo Ospin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ubaldo Ospin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bartolo Herena in the 78th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Bartolo Herena's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ubaldo Ospin was relentless in the 80th minute of the game. Silvio Rocio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Don Pedro II had played much better football throughout.
