Chañarito's Gaston Hernandez got a good chance for a goal in the 3rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 6th minute Aristides Joanes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gogo Marino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Honorio Llanos's late challenge caught a Chañarito's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marcos Millano got free with Gogo Marino in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The Goyeneche fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. When the match clock showed 34 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Marcos Millano sped through Chañarito's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Gogo Marino. 38 minutes into the match, Chañarito's goal looked a bit too open when Aristides Joanes came free, but Gogo Marino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 42nd minute, Feliberto Lizbeth sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Goyeneche's Abelardo Frisco didn't even have to move. Goyeneche's Marcos Millano got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gaston Hernandez made a kick off. Aristides Joanes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fabio Urtun sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 60th minute Gaston Hernandez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abelardo Frisco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aristides Joanes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marcos Millano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Marcos Millano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Aristides Joanes struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Gogo Marino didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Goyeneche. The supporters of Goyeneche booed when Chañarito was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Isidro Ugutz didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 89 minutes Chañarito's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Desiderio Sandaili who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Goyeneche's Desiderio Sandaili to fire away a dangerous shot which Gogo Marino despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Abelardo Frisco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gaston Hernandez in the 94th minute of play.
