Spectators: 6662 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1662, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. In the 12th minute Gaston Urdaspal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gogo Marino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gogo Marino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arnaldo Ramirez in the 13th minute of play. After having played for 14 minutes, Gaston Urdaspal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Despeñaderos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gaston Urdaspal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Isidro Ugutz charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Isidro Ugutz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Chañarito's Isidro Ugutz got a free kick in the 25th minute. Gaston Urdaspal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Gaston Urdaspal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Chañarito getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Cornelio Salvino hit a great ball. Gaston Urdaspal might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gogo Marino. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gaston Urdaspal ran back to his position shaking his head. The supporters of Despeñaderos booed when Chañarito was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fabio Urtun didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Despeñaderos's Leonides Palos got a free kick in the 43rd minute. Gogo Marino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gaston Urdaspal in the 47th minute of play.

The wind increased when Gaston Hernandez made the kick off in the second half. If Gaston Urdaspal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gaston Urdaspal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 57 minutes into the game, Despeñaderos's Arnaldo Ramirez nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gogo Marino made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Arnaldo Ramirez got free with Gogo Marino in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Gogo Marino took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gaston Urdaspal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gaston Urdaspal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gogo Marino having to interfere. Gogo Marino made an important save on a dangerous shot by Arnaldo Ramirez in the 64th minute. Chañarito's Osvaldo Astrada pulled a muscle in his leg after 78 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Gaston Urdaspal's late challenge caught a Chañarito's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gaston Urdaspal helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Despeñaderos getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Gaston Urdaspal hit a great ball. Arnaldo Ramirez blasted a shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gogo Marino having to make a save. Chañarito's Gogo Marino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gaston Urdaspal in the 97th minute of play. Despeñaderos's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
