Nacional y Popular's Ulises Munio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aristides Joanes in the 94th minute of play. 97 minutes into the match, Goyeneche's goal looked a bit too open when Serafino Basualdo came free, but Abelardo Frisco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match was over Goyeneche could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Nacional y Popular throughout the match.
